Joshua N. Berkowitz, MD

Nonoperative Sports Medicine

I have proudly called North Carolina home for over 20 years. In addition to my clinical work in Orthopaedics, I also serve as a team physician for the UNC Tar Heels athletics programs and remain active in teaching the next generation of medical students, residents and fellows. As a world champion Ultimate player, I love caring for athletes of all types and ability levels and working with patients to develop management plans that fit individual needs. I enjoy helping people of all ages remain active and meet their goals.

In the community, I serve as team physician for Chapel Hill High School and the Raleigh Flyers and Raleigh Radiance professional Ultimate teams. I also serve on the USA Ultimate Medical Advisory Working Group and work as an event physician for the National Basketball Association. I am proud to have the opportunity to work in service of the people of the state of North Carolina as a member of UNC Orthopaedics.
